Sheltering in place at fire stations, wearing masks and practicing social distancing, Thomasville Fire/Rescue (TFR) firefighters are receiving state-mandated training via webcam.

In addition to being state-required, firefighters need the training and polishing of skills, said Tim Connell, interim fire chief.

“It keeps us in our station and keeps us from being exposed to the virus,” Connell said.

TFR staffs fire stations on South Crawford Street and South Pinetree Boulevard and also operates from the emergency services center on Remington Avenue.
