THOMASVILLE — Thomasville Mayor Greg Hobbs owes more than $25,000 in delinquent property taxes, according to city and county tax records.
2020欧冠名单Tax information obtained from the City of Thomasville through an open records request shows Hobbs owes a total of $17,074.70 in 2018 and 2019 delinquent Thomasville City Board of Education taxes. The amount includes interest and penalties.
The taxes were due Dec. 20 both years. The city, which has no property tax, levies city school board property taxes.
2020欧冠名单Thomas County property tax records show Hobbs owes $4,658.85 that was due on Nov. 15, 2018, and $3,929.10 due on Nov. 15, 2019.
"Those amounts do include penalties and interest," said Thomas County Tax Commissioner Alicia Hester. "If the taxes are not paid, the property will be auctioned off at a tax sale in July."
The city is in the process of levying on the property for a tax sale in June.
Delinquent taxpayers have been notified that the levy and tax sales processes have begun.
Hobbs did not respond to requests for a comment.
