THOMASVILLE — Thomasville City Council voted 4-1 Wednesday to extend the city’s state of emergency until May 13, which coincides with a gubernatorial order that extends statewide emergency status.

2020欧冠名单Council member Wanda Warren cast the sole opposing vote to an extension that will allow city government to apply for state and federal coronavirus-related funding, extends utilities bill payments with no late fees and temporarily changes back-door garbage pickup to streetside.

“Without our state of emergency, we might not be able to go after those (state and federal) dollars,” City Manager Alan Carson told the council during a teleconference meeting live-streamed on the city website.
