THOMASVILLE — Thomasville City Council voted 4-1 Wednesday to extend the city’s state of emergency until May 13, which coincides with a gubernatorial order that extends statewide emergency status.

“Without our state of emergency, we might not be able to go after those (state and federal) dollars,” City Manager Alan Carson told the council during a teleconference meeting live-streamed on the city website.
